This is the first poppy to come out in my garden.I love it.
Poppy was the second nick-name I ever had for Ian.

What was the first nickname?
Why call him Poppy? I don't think it suits him at all!
Thanks! It's a sweet flower. There are still some red ones to come, which I prefer, actually.
Ian's first nick name was Phil.
He was called Poppy because it was similar to Pop, but more camp. We called each other Dad or similar words in front of the dog, you see...!
hmph... only confirms my theory about a certain dog beating Phyllis up those stairs.....

That poppy is gorgeous! I looked quickly and thought it was a painting.
I did once do a painting of a poppy. It's now in my kitchen. I might take a photograph and post it here sometime.
