Quick question

If you met me, dear reader, say, on the street or something similar, would you call me Minge or Roy?

I'd have to say Roy. I had no idea what "Minge" meant in the UK until I had been reading your blog for a while.

Most of us here in the States just blog merrily away, typing "Minge" and putting your blog title in our blog rolls, blissfully unaware of its slang meaning.

Am I the only one who had no idea?

On the other had, Minge is singed into my brain, so I will probably forget Roy at some point and just say Minge.

This is one of the better blogs on the 'Net, IMHO. I can hardly keep up with your prolific posting!

I wouldn't have ever guessed, Roy, but then again I belong to no English speaking country. I even thought Minge was a Scottish name... Huh, logic, no?...
I still have to learn what Minge means...

I knew what "minge" meant, but then I've watched a lot of British TV.

I know what Minge means ;)

However - when I talk about you in day-to-day stuff, it's "Minge said this" or "Minge did that" because people that know me read my blog so they know who I mean.

Face to face, I dunno - probably Minge as well to be honest! hehe Unless my nan was nearby of course ;)

I'd call you Minge. But then would probably get all red in the face and backtrack...

I dunno, I'd have to see you face to face, on the street, to see which one fits better.

Thanks for your comments.

You know, Minge isn't such a bad word, really. I mean, a Mother, potty-training her daughter wouldn't say, "Come on, wipe your little minge!" but it's nothing you should really be ashamed of saying in front of anyone you know. It's not dirty, it's just a little bit naughty, and has a comedic aspect. There was a character in Absolutely Fabulous called Minge.

(Scottish) Alan and Stickola call me Minge as do a few others, but most people call me Roy, and this, dear reader, breaks my poor little heart.

The rest assured, I will refer to you as Minge from now on :)
Especially as soooo few Americans know what it means.

After all, you're talking to the guy who had an American friend fall over skiing, and asked me if I would kiss her fanny better...

Yes, I laughed too.

I'd definitely call you Minge, it just wouldn't be right to start thinking of you as Roy, Minge.

I love the fanny thing. You can get into so much trouble. Adore it!

Graham, it gladdens my heart to know that I'll always be your Minge.

I hate Roy. It makes me sound like I'm in my seventies.

As an American, I had no idea! I thought it was a freakin Scottish name.

Lordy!

If you google on Minge, you get a guy running for some election in the USA. Now, that's fabulous.
