MacArthur Park

Spring was never waiting for us dear
It ran one step ahead

As we followed in the dance

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark

All the sweet, green icing flowing down

Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it

And I'll never have that recipe again

Oh, nooooo

I recall the yellow cotton dress

Foaming like a wave
On the ground beneath your knees

The birds like tender babies in your hands

And the old men playing chinese checkers by the trees

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark

All the sweet green icing flowing down

Someone left the cake out in the rain

I don't think that I can take it

'Cause it took so long to bake it

And I'll never have that recipe again

Oh, nooooo

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark

All the sweet green icing flowing down

Someone left my cake out in the rain

I don't think that I can take it

'Cause it took so long to make it

And I'll never have that recipe again

Oh, nooooo

Is this the best song ever in the history of the entire universe?

And Donna Summer does it so much better than Richard Harris.

Do you know the Weird Al parody, "Jurassic Park?" That always makes me laugh.

I love it when you get all geeky about music.

I used to sing at the top of my lungs to that song when I was a little girl. LOL. I have always liked her! :)

what do you think Donna's trying to say with these lyrics?

I just think it's very odd to mention baking a cake whilst strolling through a park.

I'm a total geek.

I've always liked Donna, too.

The cake is her relationship.

Donna bloody Summer. She's lasted longer on your blog than most summers in Scotland... and that's about 5 days now.

I know you're in Bournemouth but you can easily take your mum for a coffee in an internet cafe hen.

I didn't pay my monthly subscription fee for nothing.

By the way, it's your Birthday on 3rd June, right?

Yes, I'll be 29 on the third of June!
