Nice teaser!! Oooh I'm excited now!!

I'm sure Miss Tate will deliver, just as long as she doesn't revert to any "Am I bovvered"-isms...

I've heard a few things about The Runaway Bride and I'm not frightened any more. Although I hate Catherine Tate, I'm satisfied that in this, she'll be justan actress, thank goodness. She's got nothing to do with the writing, the production or the direction.

I'm quite intrigued, though. How has she just materialised in the TARDIS?

Oh, and why was the decision taken to base Doctor Who's Pertwee years, especially the early era, on earth? RTD has done something quite similar - but for similar reasons?

I think the TARDIS materialises around HER which is why she suddenly just appears in the control room. (A bit like the trick the Dr pulled off in "Parting of the ways" when he lands the TARDIS "around" Rose to save her from the Daleks). Anyway apparently at the moment she appears, the bride is contemplating suicide (hence the title of the episode) and the Dr turns up in the nick of time. That's what I'd heard anyhow.

Quite a random question about the Pertwee years! Not totally sure about that, a deliberate decision on the part of the producers? I think with RTD he wanted to start off the relaunch of Dr Who by putting the show in a familiar context for viewers; he felt it would be too much of a "wrench" to start off the programme with lots of stories set on strange planets. Also as Rose was from Earth she had a personal interest in visting the different time periods and cultures of her own planet and this was what the Doc showed her. However now we're two series in, and the show has really had a chance to establish itself, I personally think it's high time we get some more episodes set on alien worlds - there is just too much bias on Earth-focussed stories overal. "The Impossible Planet" / "Satan Pit" was a great example of how good a story can be when set somewhere totally alien and far away from our galaxy ...

Phew! Aren't I helpful!!

Old Cheeser, you are indeed helpful. Thank you so much!

Ric, I don't make promises which I have no intention of keeping.

I'm so excited, I could vomit.

You're welcome .... I'm just a Dr Who geek really and welcome any chance to rattle on about it ... maybe I should set up my own Dr Who IT helpdesk or something.

And hold back the vomit til December 25th!! (I am of course assuming that's when the episode will be shown ... fingers crossed!!)
