Looking forward

Things to look forward to this week:

Edud Olmert's meeting Bush this week. Should be interesting. I wonder what they'll be talking about? Will Mr Olmert be happy or sad about the recent election results in the USA?

The world premiere of Casino Royale takes place in London tomorrow. I wonder if Daniel Craig will be wearing that infamous tight blue bathing suit?

Another thing for tomorrow. EU and North African minsters are meeting in Istanbul for a conference on boosting the role of women in society. I'm just wondering how many female ministers there'll be. I think they have their work cut out for them.

Al-Jazeera starts broadcasting its English language station on Wednesday. Famed BBC newsreader Darren Jordan joined them a while back. I wonder how he deals with his conscience. The station is notorious for showing Al-Quaida propaganda and gruesome killings. Do you think they'll get many viewers, dear reader?

Also on Wednesday, the Senate armed services committee holds a scheduled hearing on the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan a week after the resignation of Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, in the aftermath of the Republicans' mid-term election rout. This is going to be hilarious.

French Socialists hold the first round of voting to choose their candidate in the 2007 presidential election on Thursday. If there is no clear winner among the three, a run-off will follow in a week. Whoever they choose, I hope they're successful next year.

On Saturday, the foreign ministers of 18 states meet in Delhi for a conference on aiding Afghanistan's recovery. More chat or some action, dear reader?

Ohhh, John is a HUGE James Bond fan (has all the books and knows everything there is to know about 007). I swear he thinks he's Bond - LOL! Anyway, this Friday when the movie is released here in the states, we'll be first in line! Hope Daniel Craig does a good job in the film... ;)
