I saw this the other day and one thing really bugs me: why oh WHY does the Tardis fly like that? I'm sure 'back in the day' it just used to teleport, no? Why in this series have they turned it into a spinning, er, thing? The flying effects look really naff, even naffer than actually using the word naff to describe something's naffness.

I think it's all about re-creating the TARDIS crash landing as seen in the Christmas special last year.

Did you see, Stickola, that The Christmas Invasion is repeated on BBC1 on, I think, 17th December? Exciting!

A-ha, you found the spoiler too, Minge...well done! Great clip and very exciting stuff - even though the picture quality is not great you can really feel the tension with poor old Ms Tate stuck in the cab and the Doc desperately trying to save her! I hope the rest of the special fulfils the promise shown here...

And I feel your criticisms are rather harsh, Lost Boy. Although the spinning TARDIS effect is, well, unusual shall we say, I wouldn't describe it as naff. I mean, compare it the special effects from the orginal Dr Who, with its crap spaceships made out of washing up liquid bottles and baco-foil aliens. Things have definitely improved.

And personally I think "The Runaway Bride" will be the best thing showing over the WHOLE of Xmas, let alone Xmas Day.

Oh dear, I'll have a lot to live up to if I'm wrong, won't I?
