Fear Of Fanny

Just when Minge had thought television had sunk to its lowest depth, dear reader, along come Julia Davis and Mark Gatiss with Fear Of Fanny.

It airs the day after my return from Bo
urnemouth on BBC4. I can't wait.

Fanny Cradock was the harridan of the British television kitchen in the years before Nigella and Delia. She was a twisted little bitch and with no competition and an air of superiority reigned supreme, unchallenged as Britain's gastronomical queen for many years.

Her undoing? Being nasty, vile and rude when all around her were nice. Eccentric, yes. Loveable, no.

Click here to read the very interesting Wikipedia article on Fanny. Disturbing and funny, you're bound to laugh out loud (as I just have). Definitely of her time, check out three of her recipes. Would anyone make Gateau l'ambassadeur today? Would you, dear reader?

Oh Goodness she must be who Naomi Campbell is taking clues from. On another note, I was going to ask what happened to her face but the article answered. Goodness. She had no acces to a mirror tho?

Pitty, she could have spent the money on a shrink or shock therapy rather than plastic surgery.

That is a terrifying photo, Minge. I'm going to have nightmares.

I wouldn't want her to serve me a diet Coke.

Yes... I have a ton of turkish apricots around here and thought, "hmmm I bet they'd be tasty in scones." Full of iron too! Which is why I have so many of them and with my fresh spinach gone for goodness knows how long, it is back to the turkish apricots and co co wheats to go with the vitamins to treat the anemia.
