ReplyDeleteI made myself choose between She-ra and He-man. I don't know why, but I did. I told all the boys at school that I was watching He-man, but secretly, I was watching She-ra.
ReplyDeleteI didn't put Doctor Who on the list because I never considered it a children's programme. I always thought it was for grown ups. I only ever ate plain/dark/bitter chocolate as a youth because it was for grown ups. I wouldn't be seen dead with a bar of Dairy Milk. Someone gave me some once and I buried it in the garden.

I did wrestle with putting Wonder Woman in my list, but, like Doctor Who, I really didn't consider WW a children's show when I was a kid. I used to run home when Mum called me, yelling, "Roy, Womder Woman's on!" All the other kids would laugh at me, but I didn't care. They had no taste. I knew they were children and didn't watch it. I felt quite superior, watching an adult, at least, a family-viewing television programme. I used to borrow Mum's handbag and spin on the spot, pretending to be her.
