Thought provoking stuff. I can ...Great post, Minge! Thought provoking stuff. I can see where you're coming from and agree with a lot of your points. Lowering one's expectations for instance is probably a good thing, then you don't get disappointed or feel let down - my partner tells me I expect too much sometimes! And yeah, it's easy to get wound up about things you can't control - living in London has that effect lots of times - rude people, aggression, late trains and buses - all things to potentially get annoyed about.

But personally I think being a pessimist is a bit too extreme. I don't want to expect the worst anymore than I should expect the best. I think we need to occupy some kind of ideological middle ground - just be neutral about things when and where we can, if that makes any kind of sense.

Then again thinking about it more, I think there are things that we can't help but get angry about e.g. someone robs our house or mugs us on the street. I dunno. It's hard sometimes!Old Cheeserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17871751335676050949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20766017.post-74097867891463416292007-05-26T09:32:00.000+01:002007-05-26T09:32:00.000+01:00Yes, Lewis.
